Please note: "TED Membership" refers specifically to a subscription status joined by making a donation to the nonprofit TED Foundation.
TED Membership is not the same as a free TED.com account. To learn how to delete a free TED.com account, visit this article.
What if I don't recognize this charge?
To help refresh your memory, TED is a nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading worthwhile ideas through "TED talks," which are live presentations given at annual TED conferences. These talks are later uploaded to our website TED.com and the TED app.
TED Membership allows supporters to directly sustain TED's programs and initiatives through a recurring monthly or yearly charitable donation to the TED Foundation, the nonprofit 501(c)(3) that owns TED.
All TED Memberships are subscriptions, meaning that they automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
To review your TED Membership donation history*, go to
https://giving.ted.com
and enter the email you used to make the donation.
To cancel renewal of your subscription, follow these steps:
In the "Recurring donations" section, click View Details
At the bottom of the details section, click Cancel recurring donation
A confirmation email will immediately follow. Keep in mind that this action cancels the next renewal of the subscription, not one that has already completed. In other words, a completed donation cannot be cancelled after it has already renewed.
To review the agreement for all TED Memberships, visit the Membership donation refund and cancellation policy.

*Your donation history will only show contributions made after May 2025, when TED Membership migrated to a new fundraising platform. If you need information about donations made prior to May 2025, please email members@ted.com
