A tier is assigned when a license is granted and is based on the experience of the license holder. Each license tier is based on the following criteria:
- Community: Granted to organizers when their license is approved.
- Community Plus: Granted to organizers who have attended a qualifying TED Conference. This license allows for more than 100 attendees for in-person events.
- Summit: Granted to organizers who have held at least four 100+ Standard, University, Youth, or ED events and exhibited excellence in curation within the community guidelines.
- Legacy: This is an invitation-only licensing tier that is currently in its pilot phase.
