A TEDx event type describes either the community (Standard, University, Youth, Library, Internal, Business), content focus (ED, TEDxLive, TEDxWomen, Countdown), or format (Salon) of your licensed TEDx gathering.
A License Tier defines the audience size, funding options, and distribution possibilities that your event is able to explore.
You choose a specific event type every time you apply for a license but there is no separate application process for the different tiers. A License Tier is assigned when your license is granted based on the criteria found here.
