Yes — you can participate in interviews and issue a press release for your event, but there are a few important guidelines to follow.
All press outreach, including press releases, must be reviewed and approved in advance by TED’s media liaison (tedxpr@ted.com). Your press release should include standard “About TED” and “About TEDx” language, along with key event details like your event name, date, location, speakers, and website. Please note that TED does not provide quotes for individual press releases.
For interviews, be sure to clearly describe your event as a TEDx event that is independently organized. It's important to avoid implying that "TED" is coming to your location or that your event is "organized by TED," "sponsored by TED," or an "official TED event". TED staff are the sole official spokespeople for TED and the TEDx program as a whole, and any journalist seeking comment from TED should be directed to tedxpr@ted.com
