As of June 2023, new TEDx talks published on our YouTube channel no longer automatically get their own pages on TED.com. TED will continue to curate idea-driven TEDx talks for the website.
We made this change in response to data showing that social media is actually where the biggest audiences connect with TEDx ideas. Instead, TEDx team members can now share TEDx talk clips of up to 60 seconds on all social media platforms! Whether it’s through Instagram Reels, TikToks, or YouTube Shorts, you’ll be able to engage far more viewers with these longer short-form videos.
We encourage you to lean into this strategy—and experiment! That means:
- While you’re curating a talk, keep in mind that you’ll want to be able to promote its core idea in 60 seconds or less.
- Play with a range of 60-second clips from your talks. For inspiration, check out these examples that have performed especially well on the TEDx Instagram and TED’s TikTok. When you post, tag the official TEDx account on the respective platform so we can celebrate your work.
