If you plan to hold an event with live speakers, we recommend applying about five months prior to your anticipated event date. TEDx applications can take up to eight weeks to review and we encourage a minimum of three months to prepare for the event once licensed.
If you plan to hold an event that focuses on live streaming new TED content (like TEDxLive) or showing existing TED talks, rather than programming new speakers, (like a Salon event), you can apply a little closer to your event date.
Please note that no formal organizing should take place before you receive your license. Don’t forget, most TEDx licenses are valid for 12 months, so you’ll have plenty of time to organize the event once licensed.
