We ask TEDx organizers to upload the videos of their talks on YouTube so that anyone can view their talk. We use the release form as a mutual understanding that the recorded talk will be used only to spread their idea and not for commercial reasons. As an organizer, you should keep the release form. TED may ask for this signed release so please keep them on file even if you stop organizing events. This is essential for any talks to be considered for wider distribution and to solve copyright disputes if they arise.
Why do speakers have to sign a release form?
